Police Arrest 2 in Chase

8-10-04 – Police arrested one man and a teenager stealing cars from a Sherman dealership after a brief chase on Monday night.

Police attempted to stop the suspects, who were in a stolen SUV, near the Grayson Motors dealership on Texoma Parkway just before midnight. They took off, but were eventually stopped on highway 82 near Savoy.

The driver of the stolen vehicle is from Dallas and has been identified as Jerome Anthony Quarels. He was arrested and taken to the Grayson County Jail. The passenger in the stolen car, a 16 year old from Sherman, was also taken into custody.

After the arrest, officers received information that a second vehicle was stolen from the dealership. It was parked in the 2200 block of East Gallagher. Officers believe the suspects stole one vehicle, parked it and went back to the lot for the second.

Quarels will be charged with theft of a motor vehicle and evading arrest. The juvenile will also face theft charges.
