8-11-04 – A local football player had to be taken to the hospital after suffering from heat exhaustion. The junior varsity football player at Bells High School got sick during practice Tuesday. Coaches gave the student extra fluids before taking him to the hospital.

School officials say the player has been released from the hospital and is doing better. Coaches expect the young man to continue practice Wednesday; however they are not sure if he will suit up.

The Bells Panthers started two-a-days last Monday and will continue the practices until school starts, August 18th.

On Tuesday, high temperatures reached 95 degrees and the heat index is estimated to have reached 100.
