Sherman soldier laid to rest

SHERMAN - Friends and family remembered fallen soldier Braden Long Sunday with a service at Faith Church in Sherman.

Hundreds of people paid their respects both inside and outside Faith Church. Outside, members of the Patriot Riders motorcycle club greeted guests with flags. And inside, he was honored by family and friends, along with fellow servicemen.

Soldiers presented Long's family with his medals, and each member of the family received an American flag.

The Army Specialist died in Iraq August 4, when his grenade hit his Humvee. He was a Sherman High School graduate.

Long was 19 years old.
