FANNIN COUNTY, Tex. -- Authorities say when they tried to stop 47-year old Richard Clark for suspicion of driving while intoxicated that during that traffic stop, Clark sped off with his children in the car and ran over Sgt. Lonnie Griggs’ foot.

A chase ensued that went on for several miles on Highway 78, ending at Clark’s parents’ home where he ran out the back of the home into the woods and got away.

Clark is now in the Fannin County Jail charged with four counts of endangering a child, aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and driving while intoxicated.

Sgt. Griggs is home recovering and is expected to return to work as early as Thursday.

I hope that they catch this man and send him to prison. Police Officers already put their life on the line and don't need trash like this to deal with too.

When they catch him I hope the courts do more than slap him on the wrist. People might not like the Police but they need to remember that they are there to help the public at large and in the end go home to there family. All this is done usly for litle pay.
