SHERMAN -- A major accident Wednesday night sent four people to local hospitals. It happened around 7:30 p.m. at Highway 75 and Loy Lake Rd.

Four people were ejected from a brown sedan.

Police say the car was traveling down the service road, then drove onto the left shoulder, overcorrected and flipped.

The driver and three passengers were thrown from the vehicle.

One 17-year-old woman, Ciara Donahoe, the back seat passenger, was flown by helicopter to a Dallas hospital with head trauma.

Sherman Police Sergeant Charles Smith said, "The main thing is when you drop off one side of the road or the other, just take your foot off the gas and gradually get yourself back on the road and don't yank the steering wheel one way or the other. That's what causes you to lose control and start rolling."

David Clark, 17, of Sherman, Laura Rodriguez, 18, the driver, and a 15-year-old Denison girl were taken to Wilson N. Jones with non-lifethreatening injuries.

you people should be ashamed of yourself, these are young adults and this could have happened to anyone of us, this didnt happen just because they were teens. Get past the fact that some didnt have seatbelts on and just be thankful that no one passed in the accident. And to the person that said this should teach them a lesson, what an awful thing to say, they were just simply driving down the road and an unfortunate accident happened, my nephew was driving in a car and it rolled and he WAS wearing a seat belt, and you know what he is no longer with us, so just leave comments like that to yourself, (laura and the others i am very glad that no one was hurt worse, you all are in our prayers.

If you're reading this...please don't let this set you back. It is not your fault and it is out of your control. Go back to school.

Those who drive in glass cars should not throw mufflers, wake up you Scribes and Pharisees, Gods grace is sufficient, let him who is without fuel injection cast the first carburetor. I pray for all who have been touched by this unfortunate ACCIDENT!!!, that you take time to acknowledge your own fuel gage, you may be running on empty! check your own engine light before you try and fix other's vehicles... Who are you in God and who is God in you? Got Jesus?

Too bad Texas doesn't have laws to better protect young drivers and passengers as other states do. I lived in Sherman for years and had decided years ago that when my children reached the driving age that they would not have passengers or be the passenger of a young driver. No matter how responsible a young driver is, inexperience is a dangerous thing. Until young drivers have more experience, these accidents will continue to happen. I hope they all make a full recovery. My thoughts and prayers are with them and their families.

"Thank you Father for the wonderful care you have provided these children. I pray it is your will that they will all recover completely. I also pray for those who are quick to judge, may you bless them with compassion, mercy and grace, and may they realize without your grace, mercy and compassion NONE OF US WOULD BE HERE NOW. In Jesus name." Amen

I know 3 of the 4 victims and they are all very good kids, Granted 2 of the 3 I know were not wearing seatbelts thats no reason to say rude things, I hardly ever wear my seatbelt but I do make sure my 2 kids are in their carseats and buckled in, doesn't say alot on for me on me being safe but atleast they will be... I am going to start wearing my seatbelt more often cause I could have lost 3 of my friends and that makes me sad, and I don't wanna lose control and be ejected and possibly killed and my boys not have a mother, these kids are great kids, pray for them instead of condemning them, I love you Laura, David and Ciara I know you all are gonna be fine

My brother was in that car! they are all very responsible teens, and how dare you (to all the people being VERY RUDE) say all that, how would you feel if you saw people saying this sh** about your kids! you wouldn't like it very much, its very disrespectful. On the end note I Love You David! <3Carrie edited by Staff

Laura is one of the most responsible teens I know. She was wearing her seatbelt, a fact kept her from beening thrown from the car. Everything that happens is for the glory of God. Maybe this was God showing these families the vast amount of His grace that no one was fatally injured. I pray that these teens will seek God's direction with their second chances.
