Former sheriff's deputy faces lewd acts with a child charges

ARDMORE, Okla. – A man facing five counts of lewd acts with a child is headed to court.

Ray Allen Haworth used to be a Carter County Sheriff’s deputy.

He also worked as a youth minister.

On Wednesday, he'll be arraigned on lewd act charges.

Investigators say two young girls came forward back in June claiming Haworth molested them.

Haworth entered a not guilty plea and could stand trial in early October.

The case was handed over to the Bryan County District Attorney’s Office because authorities say one of the victim’s family members is an employee at the Carter County District Attorney's Office.
