Teen Arrested in Church Deacon Murder

Video will be available shortly.

8-22-04- A teenager has been arrested for the murder of a beloved church deacon in Konowa, OK. 19 year old Sonny Collinsworth of Konowa was taken into custody Saturday night by Seminole County Authorities for the murder of Silas Price, Jr.

Six law enforcement agencies, including the OSBI, flushed Collinsworth out of a wooded area near Sasakwa Saturday night.

A family friend found Price dead in his home on Thursday. Authorities believe he walked in on a robbery and was shot twice in the head.
He was a deacon at the Landmark Baptist Church in Konowa and was a well-known butcher at Streetman's Supermarket for 40 years.

In an ironic twist, Collinsoworth is the stepson of the man Price and his late wife raised as a foster child. He is being held at the Seminole County Jail on a murder complaint.

Funeral services for Silas Price, Jr. will be held Tuesday, at 3:00 p.m. in the Konowa High School's Performing Arts Center.
