OHP Plane Crashes in Southern Oklahoma

8-22-04- Authorities say an Oklahoma Highway Patrol airplane crashed this afternoon in southeastern Oklahoma.

Two people suffered minor injuries when the aircraft went down
about 15 miles east of Holdenville.

Wayne Beckmann with Federal Aviation Administration in Fort Worth, Texas, says the Cessna 182 apparently stalled and hit some trees. News footage of the crash showed the airplane upside down in
a field.

Beckmann says the pilot had some cuts and abrasions and a passenger suffered a broken wrist. The names of the occupants
weren't immediately released.

OHP officials say the plane was flying low as it searched for marijuana.
