MADILL, Okla. -- They call it "a security mission". More Oklahoma soldiers called to duty are about to be deployed to Iraq.

Local soldiers are being called to duty as members of the 1245th Transportation Unit in Madill will be going to Iraq.

Official word came this weekend that the men and women of the 1245 will be part of the massive deployment with the 45th Infantry Brigade.

Officials with the National Guard called it part of “the security force in Iraq”.

Mobilization is set for October 19th when they will head to Fort Bliss in El Paso for training. They should deploy to Iraq around the first of the year.

This group has already served at least one tour in Iraq. Some volunteered as recently as last year.

May God bless and protect each and everyone in this unit. Some of these soldiers just came home from Iraq in June as they had deployed with the 1345th. We'll be praying for a safe return and show them the same support we had for the 1345th. We're so very proud of you!!

It is terrible that more troops have to go. Esp., when it includes men and women that are close to home. However, this Unit is a very strong one and will do their very best while there. My prayers are with each and every one of them as well as their family and friends. And may each and every one make it back home safely. GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!!!
