GUNTER, Tex. -- Gunter superintendent Richard Cohagan announced he will be resigning in December after 27 years of service with the North Texas school district.
Cohagan says while he has enjoyed working with the schools, he's ready to move on. Assistant superintendent Kevin Worthy will fill in as interim superintendent.
School board officials are still unsure at this time if Worthy will take the position or if someone from the outside will be brought in.
Before becoming superintendent, Cohagan was principal and coach at Gunter High School for three years.
