BRYAN COUNTY, OK -- A child was flown to a Plano hospital after an accident in Bryan County.

It happened just before 5:30 p.m. three miles north of Achille. Troopers say this truck was headed south on State Highway 78 when the driver lost control, crossed into the northbound lane and hit a tree.

Six people were in the pickup. One child suffered a severe head injury.

"The child actually got out of the seat belt system she was wearing. The driver turned around to tell the child, or to yell at the child to tell them to put the seat belt back on and lost control and wrecked the vehicle," Trooper Michael Green said.

Everyone in the truck was wearing a seatbelt. The highway was down to one lane for more than an hour, but is back open.
