ADA, OK -- Ada City Council recently approved zoning for a brand new apartment complex to be built.

Mayor Greg McCortney said the workforce is growing and more housing is needed in the city.

The city of Ada will be working with Dole Enterprises, who will manage the new apartment complex, and already own and manage close to 135 properties in Ada.

Mayor McCortney said more housing in the city will help those that have to commute from out of town to work, but it will also help with the economic growth of the city as well.

"Building these apartments and bringing in more housing is absolutely what we need to do to bring in the next set of companies and move Ada forward," said Mayor McCortney.

The apartments will be built off Arlington Street near the County Health Department, and Dole Enterprises hopes to get started sometime next month.
