Ada HS football player killed in motorcycle accident

ADA, OK - The Ada, Oklahoma, community is mourning the sudden death of a high school football player in a motorcycle accident Wednesday night.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 18-year-old Cody Nathaniel Johnson died in a motorcycle accident Wednesday evening just outside Ada.

An OHP accident report states Johnson struck an object in the roadway on State Highway 3W one mile north of Ada around 7:30 Wednesday evening. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The report states Johnson was wearing a helmet.

OHP says they are currently searching for another vehicle believed to be involved in the accident.

Johnson was a senior lineman on the undefeated Ada Cougar football team. Ada plays Cleveland in the second round of the Oklahoma Class 4A playoffs Friday night.
