Wednesday and Thursday are Weather Aware days due to the potential for locally heavy rainfall. Beware of flooded road-ways and never drive around barricades or into water more than six inches deep. High rainfall rates may reduce visibility and also increase the risk of hydroplaning. Turn around, don’t drown! Isolated strong thunderstorms may develop late Wednesday afternoon, but widespread severe weather does not appear to be likely at this time.
ADA, OK -- A 15-year-old was arrested after starting a house fire in Ada Tuesday morning.
According to the Pontotoc County District Attorney’s office, the teenager was arrested Tuesday for attempted murder, First Degree Arson, and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, after admitting to setting a house on fire knowing one person was inside the home.
The affidavit states the teenager had been planning the fire for about a month, and had consulted with other people to come up with the idea. The teenager admitted to lighting multiple fires in the front porch, garage, and in the back of the house.
