Ada city officials come up with plan for safe driving during severe winter weather

ADA, OK -- Ada city officials have come up with designated driving routes incase severe winter weather hits.

According to Ada Emergency Management Director, Gene Linton, several city officials have came up with a plan to help emergency agencies and drivers get around the city safely.

He says all primary roads, which see more traffic, will be sanded and treated first, then crews will treat the secondary roads, which have less traffic.

Linton says coming up with this road treatment plan will benefit everyone in the city.

"If the public travels these routes, most likely they will be sanded and it'll be less likely long jams of traffic," Linton said. "Sometimes it just takes one driver in the wrong vehicle to stop an entire road."
