DURANT, OK -- The City of Durant and Bryan County battled it out Thursday.

It was all a part of their annual blood drive.

Where Bryan County employees battled Durant employees to see who could bring in the most donations.

Thursday's competition brought in 90 units of blood to boost the Oklahoma Blood Institute's supply, just in time for Memorial Day.

The Durant Fire Department even grilled up some hotdogs for donors.

"It just shows a good working relationship between county government and city government and that's something that we've tried to promote to this county, that we work together for the good of the people of Bryan County," said James Dunegan, City Manager for the City of Durant.

The city came out on top with 56 units and the county collected 37, but OBI says they're the real winners.

Both sides say they're thankful to everyone who came out to support them.
