ANTLERS, OK-- Henry Cole, a 69-year-old Antlers, Okla., resident, pleaded not guilty to the first degree murder on Thursday.

Cole is accused of shooting his nephew, Gene Cole, in the neck with a shotgun last April.

Pushmataha County Sheriff said after he shot the victim, he called 911 to report that he found the victim's body inside his home.

Members of the Cole family were at the arrangement and Lanette Cole, Henry's sister-in-law of over 24 years, said this is not the first time the defendant has been accused of being violent.

"A lot of the family are afraid of him, because of threats that he has placed towards them," she said. "And then, you know, the other half of the family, their just, their totally devastated because they don't understand why he could do something like this."

Gene Cole, was a nice man, Lanette Cole said, and he did not deserve this.

Currently the only evidence officials have released to the public is the positive match of the defendants shotgun to the victims wounds.
