With the 4th of July quickly approaching, firefighters would like to remind everyone of a few safety tips.
Ardmore fire department captain, David Tomlinson, says although they would prefer people to just leave it to the professionals, they understand some people want to set off their own fireworks. Tomlison gives these tips:
"Number one: it's illegal in the city limits. Number two: we want you to have some kind of extinguishing agent. Water on hand; Without a doubt, you need that. Number three, parental supervision. Adult supervision."
Tomlinson says if you're caught in the city limits with fireworks, you will be fined.
