ARDMORE, OK -- An Ardmore man has been charged with second degree murder after a car accident last year that killed a motorcyclist.
42-year-old Michael King was arrested Wednesday night by Wilson Police and Carter County deputies following an investigation that concluded he was driving under the influence.
Wilson Police say back in October, 25-year-old Joshua Cook was riding his motorcycle west on U.S. Highway 70 when he was hit by an eastbound car that crossed the median driven by Michael King. Cook was taken to Mercy Hospital where he died from his injuries.
Wilson Police Chief Felix Hernandez says King's blood tests show that he was under the influence of three different drugs at the time of the accident.
"We submitted the case to the DA's office a few days ago, and we got a warrant for the suspect, Michael King, yesterday," Hernandez said.
Chief Hernandez says OHP and OSBI also assisted in the investigation. King's bond has been set at $50,000 dollars.
