ARDMORE, OK -- A pedestrian is in critical condition after being hit by a train last night in Ardmore.
Ardmore police say around 11 p.m. last night, 59-year-old Lani Marris was walking across the railroad tracks near the 3rd South East crossing, when he was struck by a train.
Sergeant Ryan Hunnicutt says Marris suffered severe injuries to the leg and face, and it appears Marris was intoxicated at the time.
Hunnicutt says they continue to investigate the incident.
"Our investigation indicates that there wasn't any foul play. That there wasn't any intent on the victim's part to hurt himself or harm himself. That it was just bad judgment and possibly his judgment was clouded by alcohol," said Hunnicutt.
Officials say Marris was taken from Mercy Hospital to OU Medical Center last night and remains in critical condition.
