Armed man reported on Texas A&M campus

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) - Texas A&M University officials are urging people on campus to resume normal activities, but remain cautious after they issued a campus-wide alert after an armed man reported on campus.

The university website reports a "Code Maroon" lockdown alert was issued just before 5 p.m. Thursday after the man was reported. The suspect is described as a mid-to-late 40s white male, about 5 feet 5 inches tall with a skinny build, with light-colored hair and wearing a lime-green short-sleeved button-up shirt and jeans.

The man was reportedly carrying a wood-handled handgun and was last seen heading toward the Sanders Corps Center.
