3 dead, 4 injured in Bryan Co. accident

COLBERT, OK - Three people are dead and four others are injured after a multi-vehicle accident involving an transit bus on U.S. Highway 69/75 Friday afternoon carrying residents of Beacon Hill Assisted Living in Denison.

According to Colbert Police, the accident happened around 3:15 p.m. Friday one mile south of Colbert. OHP says it collided with a semi truck. Colbert Police say two people were pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the accident, and another person has since been pronounced dead. Four people were injured in the accident, one of whom was flown to a Plano hospital. Their injuries are unknown at this time.

Colbert Police say seven people all between 60 to 100 years of age were on board the bus as it was leaving a weekly trip to the Choctaw Casino in Durant.

They say the cause of the accident is under investigation, and no names have been released.

OHP says both southbound lanes are closed at this time.
