Austin College 'Parade of Fools' raises money for Relay for Life

SHERMAN, TEXAS -- Some Austin College professors dressed up like fools today -- for a good cause.

The college's annual April Fools Parade features faculty members in costume, performing for students, all to raise money for Relay for Life.

In the past six years that they've been doing this, the college's Relay for Life team has raised more than 13,500 in the fight against cancer.

Today, students saw their professors dressed as Angry Birds, Tina Turner, Cleopatra and modern art.

"You get like between 4 or 7 or 8 fools, however many will actually volunteer to do it, and then we have contests and people can donate online or write checks or just donate in the donation jars," Austin College professor Kim Snipes said.

The team will participate in Grayson County's Relay for Life event in Denison on May 17th.
