ARDMORE, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says it's looking into the death of a man who died while in Ardmore police custody.

Police arrested 38-year-old Rondre Hornbeak Friday night after responding to a domestic assault call. Police say Hornbeak assaulted his sister at his apartment.

Investigators say the officer transporting Hornbeak noticed he was unresponsive when they got to the jail. They say detention officers attempted to resuscitate him until medics arrived. Hornbeak was transported to Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City where he was later pronounced dead.

The OSBI says it has interviewed witnesses, family members and officers.

The state medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
