Bill for Veterans Affairs employees training headed to Oklahoma senate

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - A bill created by Oklahoma State Senator Frank Simpson was unanimously approved by the Senate Appropriations Committee today.

Senate bill 228, allows the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs to create training and education programs for employees working within veterans facilities.

Simpson says, during a study on veterans care centers across the state one of the main complaints was a lack of education and training for staff members.

The measure now heads to the full senate for approval.
