SHERMAN, TX-A Sherman man faces felony charges after he was found with black tar heroin.

Twenty-six year old Peter Petsche was arrested for delivery and manufacturing of a controlled substance and "possession of a firearm by a felon." Sherman Police Sgt. D.M. Hampton said officers served a search warrant on the 1600 block of North Travis around 11 Thursday night and Petsche was found with about a quarter ounce of black tar heroin, along with items that facilitate its sale like scales and capsules. He said Petsche was also found with a loaded 9 MM gun.

"It's obviously here, so you'll see trends in that. Meth was at one time was kind of just a trendy type of thing, it was something that you just see every once in a while and now it's more frequent. And it may indicate the trend of black tar heroin being back in the area," he said.

Petsche is now in the Grayson County Jail on $30,000 bond.
