Body of man who drowned at Lake Murray yesterday, recovered today

CARTER COUNTY, OK -- The body of a man who drowned at Lake Murray -- recovered this morning.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the body of 32-year-old Eduardo Luna of Oklahoma City was found by search and rescue crews around 7 AM.
OHP Trooper Michael Groeber says Luna went missing in the "Tipps Point" area of Lake Murray around 1 PM Sunday.
Luna was reportedly in the water with two family members -- who could not swim -- When he went under.
Greober says this is the first drowning this year at Lake Murray.

B.J. Parkey with the U.S. Army corps of engineers says swimmers and boaters should always wear a life jacket.

"We prefer that you have your life jacket on, and swim in a designated swimming area, or an area that you're familiar to that doesn't have any drop offs or doesn't have any sticks or tree stumps within that area that you're swimming in," said Parkey.

Groeber says Lake Murray State Park, the Carter County Sheriff's office and Dickson fire department also assisted in the recovery efforts.
