Bomb scare prompts evacuation in Paris neighborhood

PARIS, TX - A neighborhood in Paris was evacuated Monday afternoon, after an artillery round was discovered at a business. The business is located in the 900 block of Northeast First Street.

The family who owns the business, says they were horrified to see kids kicking the device around the property.

Police and fire officials said they weren't sure whether the explosive was live, but that it could be dangerous.

A bomb squad from Fort Sill was called in to investigate, using an x-ray machine, and diffuse the explosive if necessary.

They say their main goal is to make sure no one in the area is hurt.
