BONHAM, TX -- The Bonham Police Department got a makeover and tonight dozens of people got an inside look.

The station held an open house to show off the new and improved building. The dispatch center has some new technology and Police Chief Mike Bankston says the 51-year-old building is now up to code. All the offices have been remodeled and the floors have been replaced.

"We were standing on top of one another and sitting on top of one another and so we've gotten more room and we've gotten better facilities so we're very proud," Chief Bankston said.

Bankston says almost all of the department's employees helped fix up the building.
