Wednesday and Thursday are Weather Aware days due to the potential for locally heavy rainfall. Beware of flooded road-ways and never drive around barricades or into water more than six inches deep. High rainfall rates may reduce visibility and also increase the risk of hydroplaning. Turn around, don’t drown! Isolated strong thunderstorms may develop late Wednesday afternoon, but widespread severe weather does not appear to be likely at this time.
BONHAM, TX -- The Bonham Fire Department will avoid layoffs, now that they've been officially approved to serve all of Fannin County.
Fannin County Judge Spanky Carter and Bonham Mayor Roy Floyd signed the final agreement Thursday, May 24.
The 3 year contract allows Bonham Fire Department to continue serving the entire county.
"My number one goal is to make sure that we provide the service inside the county, and be able to do a good service and with this contract we're gonna be able to do that for the next three years at least," said Bonham Fire Chief, Brad Nichols.
The agreement takes effect immediately.
