BOSWELL, OK - Boswell Police are forced to arrest one of their own early Sunday morning for domestic violence of the officer's wife. Boswell Police Chief Bryon Gordon said 51-year-old Ricky Lewis Archer was arrested for assault and battery.

Gordon said this is a first for the department and is troubling for the close group of officers. Gordon said Archer had been with the department for over than 17 years.

Gordon said Archer was intoxicated at the time of the incident and told police he doesn't remember assaulting his wife.

He's charged with domestic violence and abuse. Archer will be arraigned by a Choctaw County judge Monday morning. He's currently under temporary suspension. If found guilty, Archer's State Certification will be permanently suspended and he will never be allowed to work in law enforcement again.

The comment that RIck made is just wrong. He was a cop and he should not have broke the LAW period. There is never a time a woman should be hit. I was a abused woman for many years and i can tell you a beatting in never the right thing to do for any one. But he will find out like you will in your life time that when you beat a woman you are always in the wrong. And you Rick i fell sorry for any woman who becomes your partner in life. Sound like you are a abuser too.

So he made a mistake, big deal,he is a cop, they deserve a break, yea, maybe he shouldn't have smacked his wife around, but it could have been her fault, maybe he ask her to clean house and she refused, and he put her in her place, nothing wrong with tough love, they should let him back to work ASAP.

dont know where Proud 2 b from Boswell lives but these cops here are a joke. Beating a woman, sleeping with children, drinking on the job, doing drugs on the job. I guess that is your idea of doing a good job. I would hate to work with you. They all need to go period.

I don't know what was going on with Hoss (Ricky) but I will say he was a good cop in Boswell. Him and Bryan made a good team and have stoped some crime from happening.Yes he had to go if he did this to his wife.

Some one please tell me why do we need 4 full time cops and 4 vol. cops. We only have a population of 700 people. ANd there should be no question that if some one any one beates a woman that person sholud go to jail. Abuse is not right. And why is the only thing about Boswell that makes it in the paper or on the news is the bad stuff. There are a lot of good people and things here. ANd to the people running our city start doing your darn job. ( back ground checks are there for a reason)

Boswell is a cancer. The cops and council spend their time harassing innocent women. When is enough enough? With all the drugs and thugs there seems like they would have better things to do.

Gloria-god will forgive him, so I don't have to. the way I see it. god's perfect, so he can't make a mistake, i'm (as a human) am notoriously imperfect, so i can do what i want, and blame it on my maker!
