Bryan County Commissioners discuss fairgrounds

DURANT, OK--The Bryan County Commissioners had their first meeting at their new location and reversed a vote from a meeting a year ago.

Last August, the Bryan County Commissioners voted to stop using community service workers at the fair grounds. Now they are reversing that vote, at the request of the Bryan County Fairground Board.

Last year, a fairground spokesperson told the commissioners they were worried about the community service workers from drug court.
The fairground board said they don't have enough workers to keep the fair grounds in good condition and they need the extra help.

"Obviously it's Bryan county property, we want to take care of it, just like we take I told the representatives that were here in the meeting. We are all interested in doing what's best here for Bryan County and we're going too," said, Commissioner Chairman Jay Perry.

Community service workers will start at the fair grounds immediately.
