DENISON, TX -- A Denison business owner competed in a popular Food Network television show. Saturday night hundreds flocked to the Rialto theater to tune in.

They all came out to support the owner of Buffy's Cupcakes, who showcased her baking skills on Cupcake Wars.

Buffy Hanson drizzled and dazzled against two other bakers for the top prize of $10,000.

The episode aired at 7 p.m. on the Food Network.

Buffy unfortunately came up short and didn't grab the top prize, but you can judge for yourself at her store on Main street in Denison.

Does anyone really watch "cupcake wars" anyway? If so, what a sad, sad life they must live! Just another example of the non-creative, brainless, liberal idiots in Hollywood. There is NO creativity anymore. No more "Shawshank Redemption", "Dirty Harry", or "Star Wars", just garbage like this that requires no thought or creativity. What a joke, but congrats to Buffy for making it anyway!

Sad Life? Really... you read the story out of curosity, commented out of boredome, and put down an accomplishment by one of our local businesses out of ... well... sadness. Sad life indeed!

I love their cupcakes! We recently bought some for my mom's anniversary. They went out and bought themed toppers for the cupcakes and didn't charge me any extra. I was VERY impressed. I will continue to give them my business.

Congratulations Buffy! You have worked hard to grow your business and should be commended. I am a repeat customer and I think the product is great. I suspect the negative people on here have more negative things in their life to worry about than cupcakes and I suspect that the person who feels like they are at the popular table when they come to Buffys feels that way every place they go. Your insecurities have nothing to do with Buffy's Cupcakes. Buffy has worked hard to be successful and the previous comments save for one are all from people who are probably not as successful, pretty, smart, kind, funny and successful. So haters keep hating and I'll keep eating the great cupcakes that Buffy bakes!

Jeesh, anyone else want to dog these ladies on thier big day? We had them make our son's Bday cupcakes right after they got back. Our son's theme just happened to be Angry Birds and they did a wonderful job making his birthday very special. We recieved nothing but compliments from everyone attending, adult and child alike. Sounds like a couple of people (or I strongly suspect one person) has a personal axe to grind.

Great to see locals showcased on a national level, unfortunately her product isn't that great. When I visited her shop, I felt like I was in a room with the popular kids lunch table, super uncomfortable environment, hum drum overpriced cupcakes...hard to support a local business like that.

I have been to buffys a few times and let me tell you something. I can see why this place was sent home. they are not very good at what they do as they tried to let on. cupcakes are small, no flavor, and very overly priced. i for one will not go back.

We have been to Buffy's and I can see why they lost out on cupcake wars. we have been there and bought cupcakes taken them home and no one would eat them. they are very dry, no flavor and very over priced. these people think they can bake and make people happy but not us. these judges were right to send her packing. we will not go back in that place again.

Omigosh did you all just really post all that garbage? You two should be ashamed of yourselves this is a public forum where people will read it and it will hurt their feelings. I realize this is a forum but just because you have the right to say something doesn't mean you should.

What is wrong with saying your opinion about the business? They are a business after all and should be able to handle criticism.
