Wednesday and Thursday are Weather Aware days due to the potential for locally heavy rainfall. Beware of flooded road-ways and never drive around barricades or into water more than six inches deep. High rainfall rates may reduce visibility and also increase the risk of hydroplaning. Turn around, don’t drown! Isolated strong thunderstorms may develop late Wednesday afternoon, but widespread severe weather does not appear to be likely at this time.
BONHAM, TX -- The Bonham Chamber of Commerce and Dollar General remain closed, after two buildings collapsed on the square over a week ago.
Insurance agents are working with the city to get the rubble and what's left of the buildings taken down safely. City Manager Bill Shipp says the street has been partially re-opened, and other businesses on the east side of the collapse are back open.
Structural engineers have not pin-pointed what caused the collapse, but Shipp says high winds are a factor.
