PARIS, TX-- The city of Paris presented a local business a check Thursday morning for two incentive agreements.
Members of the Paris Economic Development Corporation presented Campbell's Soup with a $600,000 check.
The incentives are $100,000 for a solar array and $500,000 for a single serve juice line that will be a $25 million dollar investment. The juice line brought 50 new jobs and job retention to the Paris plant.
"It's always good to have a success story here, that we are here to support business," said Board Chair Rebecca Clifford. "I think when another business looks at our area they know that we are committed to growing Paris and a business community."
PEDC board members say this shows Paris is a great place to do business.
"It's just so important to have strong anchor businesses in your community like Campbell Soup," said PEDC member Stephen Grubbs. "It's important for us to be able to go out and promote that to other businesses and industries. All the great things that we have to offer here in Paris. We want them to come and take a look and be a part of and hopefully establish businesses as well."
The single serve juice line was brought to Paris from Campbell's Sacramento factory that was shut down.
