CARTER CO, OK - The Carter County district attorney's office has been audited and some of their accounting practices have come under investigation.

In a written statement, district attorney Craig Ladd says he called the auditors himself in March.

He was concerned about accounting practices in his Bogus Check Division, and the auditors found some problems.

The state auditor report said that one employee had control over the office's information technology system and a list of all employee logins and passwords.

The employee was also accepting and recording payments, and keeping an unlocked cash drawer.

OSBI is investigating.
