Carter County granted extra resources for mosquito control

ARDMORE, OK - Carter County is being granted extra mosquito control resources from the state health department.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health bought mosquito control chemicals for counties with the highest rate of West Nile Virus.

Carter County ranks third in the state for the number of cases.

They said Ardmore and Healdton currently spray for mosquitoes and this will help them continue spraying through the end of October.

The mosquito control chemicals are available to any city in Carter County that is licensed to spray.
