Angel Cassa takes plea deal in Bullard murder case

TISHOMINGO, OK -- One of three people arrested in the murder of a Johnston County woman two and a half years ago, is now headed to prison.

Oklahoma court records show 21-year-old Angel Cassa, of Tishomingo, accepted a deal from prosecutors Friday, pleading guilty to second degree murder and first degree arson. She received 35 years on each count.

Investigators alleged Cassa and two men, Roy Zornes and James Baker, raped and murdered 60-year-old Jane Bullard, a well known teacher at Murray State College, then set fire to her home near Ravia in March 2010.

The state dropped all charges against Baker last March due to what they called "evidentiary issues".

Eight months later Zornes was found incompetent to stand trial. He's now in a Norman mental health facility.
