Confirmed case of West Nile in Grayson county

GRAYSON COUNTY, TX-- An 80-year-old Sherman man is recovering from a dangerous strain of West Nile.

John Teel with the Grayson County Health Department says the man contracted disease and was hospitalized for 5 days in mid July.

The man was hospitalized in Collin County and has since returned home.

"Though it's a low probability that any of us will get the disease, mantra is don't get bitten," Teel said.

The Grayson County Health Department says there may be another case of west nile in the county, but they are waiting on test results to confirm.
