Construction begins on new SW park in Ardmore

ARDMORE, OK--A new Ardmore park is just a few months away from completion.

Parks and recreation director Kevin Boatright said they have broken ground on the new Southwest Park in Ardmore.

He said this week they are working on building, a parking lot, and a fence. They are also looking at proposals to buy playground equipment and a pavilion.

Organizers said it was a community effort that made the dream a park in that area a reality. The park's pavilion and playground is expected to be finished by October.
