GAINESVILLE, TX -- Authorities have arrested a couple at a Gainesville home after police say they admitted to stealing hundreds of pounds of brass from several East Texas grave sites.

Officials said Jacky Brown and his wife, Ruby Brown, fled the area last week after learning they may be arrested.

A tip led Van Zandt County constables to a residence in Gainesville.

Authorities said the couple confessed to not only stealing from at least six East Texas cemeteries, but to various other burglaries as well.

The couple may have targeted several other cemeteries and the constables are searching for other victims.

They're asking anyone who may have had something stolen from their loved one's graves to contact the Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office.
