Cruz, Sadler face off in final US Senate debate

DALLAS (AP) - U.S. Senate candidates Ted Cruz and Paul Sadler are facing off in their final debate in Dallas.

Sadler, the Democratic nominee, hopes to score points painting Cruz as an extremist tea party Republican, while Cruz calls Sadler too liberal for conservative Texas. Their last debate on Oct. 1 was marked by fiery rhetoric and regular interruptions.

Cruz has said he only agreed to two debates to avoid giving Sadler any additional free television time. Cruz has raised 10 times more money than Sadler, who can't afford television commercials.

The second debate is scheduled for a Friday night, when many Texans are out watching high school football and is unlikely to attract a large audience.

The winner will replace retiring U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison.

We will stream the debate live at 7 p.m. on KXII.com.
