Demolition on old Katy Antique Station to start Tuesday

DENISON, TX -- Demolition will start on the old Katy Antique station Tueaday, according to Denison City Manager Robert Hanna.

City leaders met with the company contracted for the demolition Monday afternoon. Hanna says they discussed details for tearing down the condemned building. The two sides are still putting together a time-line for the demolition. Hubbard Furniture is near the Katy Antique station. Owner Marcus Hubbard says he is sad to see the historic building go, but says it is time for it to be taken down.

"We're pleased to have them come down here because it's been an eyesore for three years and I'm glad that they can clean it up and it will help the block look better, " Hubbard said.
