DENISON, TX - Denison city officials made some funding decisions on its downtown street scape project.

In a special session this afternoon the city council passed a resolution to request $600,000 dollars from TxDOT to help fund the "downtown street scape project."

The city also agreed to match 20-percent -- or about 189-thousand dollars.

Main street director, Donna Dow says they are planning to improve downtown streets and sidewalks.

Dow says TxDOT will decide if Denison will receive the grant at the end of 2013.
