Denison family displaced after home catches fire

DENISON, TX -- A fire displaced a family in Denison Tuesday morning.

The call came out after 9:30 a.m. on West Sheppard Street.

According to the Denison Fire department, heavy smoke was seen when crews arrived.

The family, a mother and two children, made it out safely.

The fire was put out fairly quickly, but there was significant smoke damage.

The fire marshal will investigate.

The Red Cross has been called in to assist the family.
