Wednesday and Thursday are Weather Aware days due to the potential for locally heavy rainfall. Beware of flooded road-ways and never drive around barricades or into water more than six inches deep. High rainfall rates may reduce visibility and also increase the risk of hydroplaning. Turn around, don’t drown! Isolated strong thunderstorms may develop late Wednesday afternoon, but widespread severe weather does not appear to be likely at this time.
DENISON, TEXAS -- A 17-year-old Denison girl is in the hospital after her driver-side truck door flung open while she was driving, flinging her out of the vehicle.
Denison police say she grabbed onto something inside the truck while the vehicle continued moving, eventually crashing into a shed off Lynn and Viking Street.
The girl is being treated in the hospital for abrasions to her feet and body.
Police suspect she wasn't wearing a seat belt.
