Fire marshal investigating Denison house fire

DENISON, TX -- Denison firefighters worked to put out a house fire this Saturday afternoon.

A home off Woodard Street caught fire around 12:30.

Firefighters say when they arrived, flames were shooting out of the east side of the home.

Two people live at the residence. Firefighters say a woman suffered minor burns to her leg, but didn't want to be transported to the hospital.

"The main part of the house wasn't affected, but it pretty well totalled the add on portion of the house," Chief Gordon Weger said.

The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.
