Denison railroad repairs shuts down roads

DENISON, TEXAS -- Today through the first of August, some Denison railroad crossings will be shut down.

Joe Faust with BNSF Railway Company says the company is making maintenance repairs.

Crossing closings started today at Shannon Road. The road will re-open on Thursday.

Today's closure is just the first of eight closures.

Seymore Street will be closed Thursday through the 23rd, Baker Street from the 20th to the 24th. Murray, Texas, Day, Walker and Main streets in Denison will also be closing.

Faust says BNSF will work with Denison police and fire to navigate traffic during the eight different closings.

BNSF covers 32,000 miles of track with more than 1,400 trains.
