Weather Aware conditions continue overnight due to the potential for locally heavy rainfall. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect until 7 a.m. for the northernmost portions of Texoma including Atoka, Coal, Johnston, Murray and Pontotoc Counties Beware of flooded road-ways and never drive around barricades or into water more than six inches deep. High rainfall rates may reduce visibility and also increase the risk of hydroplaning. Turn around, don’t drown! Rain ends NW to SE during the day Thursday.
DENISON, TX -- Pet lovers and dogs were out in downtown Dension Saturday for the annual Bark and Paws event.
It was held at Heritage Park and had all sorts of vendors, activities and prizes for owners and their pets. Event goers got to enjoy a weenie dog race, a retriever contest and obstacle courses. The event was not only about fun and games, but supports the local police department's canine unit.
"Last year and this year we raised money for the canine unit. Last year was to be able to purchase the drug dog, and this year we're going for the bite suit to train the dog," Main St. Director Donna Dow said.
Other contests were held at the event for the biggest, smallest, ugliest and oldest dog.
