DENISON, TEXAS -- As of Sunday evening, ONCOR says power is out for nearly 50 people in Denison after a minivan crashed into a power line.
Denison Fire officials say just after 1 o'clock, a minivan drove off Highway 91, hitting a rail, power line and a parked vehicle.
The impact sent that vehicle into Choice Motors, damaging the building.
The minivan caught fire, but responders were able to pull the driver out nearly unharmed.
They say the driver is a paraplegic and the cause could have something to do with the device that allows him to drive.
"He had a motorized wheelchair inside the van. He was able to drive legally with the situation that was designed for that vehicle. It's unknown exactly why he left the roadway," Denison Fire Battalion Chief Keith Bates said.
ONCOR is working to get power back to those who lost it during the accident.
